Assets under Custody

Meaning

Assets under Custody (AUC) represents the total value of digital assets that a financial institution or specialized custodian holds on behalf of its clients. In the crypto context, this refers specifically to cryptocurrencies, tokens, and other blockchain-based instruments where the custodian manages the private keys, thereby controlling access to and transfer of these assets. This service mitigates the direct operational and security risks clients would otherwise face in managing their own digital asset holdings.
