Mechanism
The operational mechanism for ETF blocks involves Authorized Participants acting as intermediaries between the ETF issuer and the underlying asset market. To create new ETF shares, an AP delivers a “creation basket” of the underlying assets (e.g., Bitcoin) to the ETF issuer in exchange for a block of new ETF shares. Conversely, for redemption, an AP returns a block of ETF shares to the issuer in exchange for a “redemption basket” of the underlying assets. These processes ensure the ETF’s market price remains closely aligned with its Net Asset Value (NAV).
