Mechanism

An attacker, typically a bot, detects such an order and then submits a higher-fee transaction with a similar or opposing trade, ensuring their transaction is processed first by incentivizing miners. After the original transaction executes and moves the market, the attacker’s second transaction, if needed, capitalizes on the new price.
Methodology
Mitigating front-running attacks involves various technical and design methodologies, including the implementation of commit-reveal schemes, batch auctions, or the use of private transaction relays that bypass the public mempool. These strategies aim to obscure order information or ensure fair ordering, thereby removing the attacker’s informational advantage.
