In-Memory Data Grid

Meaning

An In-Memory Data Grid (IMDG) represents a distributed system that stores substantial quantities of data across multiple interconnected servers entirely within their Random Access Memory (RAM). This architectural approach enables extremely rapid data access, processing, and transactional operations by eliminating the latency associated with disk I/O, making it ideal for high-performance, real-time applications. It acts as a high-speed, scalable data layer.
