Pre-Allocation

Meaning

Pre-Allocation denotes the process in institutional trading where a broker or execution desk specifies how a large order will be distributed among various client accounts or sub-accounts before the trade is executed. This practice is common in the Request for Quote (RFQ) crypto space, allowing for systematic order aggregation and subsequent, pre-determined distribution of executed quantities. Its primary purpose is to streamline the post-trade workflow, ensure fairness in execution, and comply with client investment mandates.
