Principal Resolution

Meaning

Principal Resolution refers to the process by which a trading entity, acting as a principal, directly resolves a discrepancy or fulfills an obligation related to a transaction using its own capital or resources. In institutional crypto trading, this can involve a market maker or an institutional desk stepping in to correct a trade error, provide liquidity to fulfill a request for quote (RFQ) that cannot be fully matched, or absorb risk on its balance sheet to ensure transactional finality.
