Quote Penalty Structures

Meaning

Quote Penalty Structures, in the context of crypto Request for Quote (RFQ) systems and institutional trading, are predefined rules or fees applied to liquidity providers who fail to honor their quoted prices or sizes, or who withdraw quotes excessively. These structures aim to disincentivize opportunistic behavior, such as “quote stuffing” or providing unreliable liquidity, thereby promoting market efficiency and fair execution for liquidity takers. They serve as a mechanism for enforcing market maker responsibilities.
