Stock Warrants

Meaning

Stock Warrants, within a crypto investing context, are financial instruments issued by a company that give the holder the right, but not the obligation, to purchase a specified number of its common shares at a predetermined price (the exercise price) before a certain expiration date. While traditionally associated with equity markets, in crypto, this concept might apply to agreements offering the right to acquire tokens or shares in a blockchain company. Their purpose is often to provide additional incentive for investors or as a sweetener in financing deals.
