Sub-Spread Fill

Meaning

A Sub-Spread Fill occurs in financial markets when an order is executed at a price that falls within the prevailing bid-ask spread, or sometimes even outside the stated best bid or offer. In crypto trading, this refers to a transaction for a digital asset completing at a price better than the current displayed best offer for a buy order, or better than the current displayed best bid for a sell order. Its purpose is to optimize execution quality, yielding a more favorable price for the trader than publicly available quotes, thereby reducing transaction costs.
