The mechanism involves routing an order to a single liquidity provider or exchange that is capable and willing to fill the entire quantity at a firm, quoted price. For a unitary execution, the system seeks a single counterparty able to absorb the full trade size, typically in an RFQ (Request For Quote) model where a dealer provides a firm, all-or-none price.
