Mechanism
A user commits their native protocol tokens into a smart contract for a chosen lock-up period, receiving a non-transferable veToken in return. The amount of veTokens and the associated voting power or yield boost are directly proportional to the quantity of native tokens locked and the duration of the lock-up. The underlying tokens remain inaccessible until the lock-up expires.
Methodology
The strategic approach aims to mitigate short-term speculative behavior by rewarding long-term holders and delegating governance influence to those most invested in the protocol’s future.
